Are your collars handmade?

Yes! All of our collars are made by us, by hand!

Why are some colours of collars more expensive than others?

Some of our leather is much harder and more expensive to source. For example, our baby blue and baby pink leather is produced at a tannery in Italy,  unlike the black leather and suedes which are produced in North America.

Do you handmake your pins?

While the pin itself is not made by us, we do engrave the pins with our own rotary engraver. Even a couple of the type pieces are made by us! For example the @ as most of the type sets we use were produced in the 1970s.

Is X nickel free?

EARRINGS
Yes! They are nickel free!
    COLLARS
    At the time we do have an option for Nickel free/Stainless Steel rivets, O rings and D rings. There is a upcharge due to them being more expensive to manufacture.
    Unfortunately we have yet to find a supplier for the heart rings that make affordable nickel free hearts. As soon as we do have the option for them, it will be made available.
      HEART LOCKS
      Sadly no. At the moment we do not have any heart locks that we can engrave that are nickel free.


        Why do customs cost more?

        COLLARS
        Even though each of the items we make are made to order, we do generally have the leather pieces cut to the two default sizes, holes punched, and have already been treated with the wax finishing coat. We don't assemble them past that until an order comes through, mostly due to them being easier to store in that state. We also sometimes have a few of our standard sizes already made in our stock we bring to shows.
          ENGRAVED PIECES
          For the majority of the engraved pieces, we do currently have stock. Any that are ordered that are not in stock, we generally try and create many of them to restock. Custom pieces we only create one of, so it takes more time having to adjust the letter set and sizing on the machine, as well as testing.

                Shipping Info

                Where do you ship from?

                We ship from our studio in Toronto, Ontario, Canada! Eh?


                  Can I change or cancel my order?

                  If you would like to add or remove an item from your order, we will cancel your order for you so that you may place it again with the correct items, as we sadly cannot change an order once it has been placed.

                  You can definitely cancel your order as long as it has not been shipped. If it is a custom order, you can cancel up until the point that the item has been made. So please make sure to cancel ASAP if you change your mind on a custom order.

                  If you would like to update/change the shipping address, please contact us ASAP so that we can get it changed before it is shipped.

                  Please note that we do tend to ship out most orders within a day or two, so please be aware of that. We want you to get your order as quick as possible!


                    Can you rush my order? I need it by X date!

                    If you need your order by a specific date, please email us here before placing your order.

                    Please wait for us to get back to you on your accommodation.

                    If your order requires rush shipping, we will have to change the shipping costs, as well as make sure that the piece(s) can be created in time, pending on stock.

                    We will do our best to accommodate you.

                    If you do need your order by a specific date, please do let me know when you order as I do not know otherwise an will just ship in the normal time frame.


                      Help! I got my order and something is wrong! What do?

                      So sorry about that! Mistakes happen, sometimes by us, and sometimes by the postal service. If there's an issue with your order, please contact us within 5 days of receiving your order. If the item is damaged, please send us a photo when you contact us.

                      L'Amour-Propre is not responsible for any lost or stolen packages. Please make sure to double check your address when ordering.


                        Can I return/exchange an item?

                        Please see our return policy here!
                        We can definitely do exchanges, but please note that you are responsible for the return shipping if exchanging for a reason other than an issue with the order.

                        Returned and exchanged items must be returned in the same unworn condition that they were shipped to you in.


                        Do you ship internationally?

                        We definitely do!

                          How long until I get my delivery?

                            Where is my order?

                            TRACK YOUR ORDER:
                            1. Login to your L'Amour-Propre account.
                            2. Click Track My Shipment next to the order status.
                            3. If you don't see Track My Shipment, your order is still processing!

                            If you paid with Paypal, your tracking is emailed to your Paypal email address within 24 hours of shipment.


                            I got my package, but there's a fee! What happened?

                            Sadly custom fees are set by your country. We can't tell you what they'll be as it is different for every country. We can't control them and don't have access to it in any way. Buyers are responsible for any custom fees or advancement fees accrued on a package.
